Common questions from property owners

We've compiled the questions we hear most often from prospective clients.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Ottawa and the surrounding suburban communities. Our team works with properties throughout the National Capital Region, including cottage properties within a reasonable driving distance. If you're unsure whether your location falls within our service area, please contact us directly.

How does your pricing work?

Our pricing depends on the scope of work, property size, and frequency of service. We provide detailed quotes after an initial property assessment. There are no hidden fees, and we outline all costs before any work begins. Contact us for a consultation to discuss your specific needs.

Do you offer one-time services or only ongoing contracts?

We offer both. Some clients prefer seasonal clean-ups or one-time garden installations, while others benefit from regular maintenance schedules. We can discuss which arrangement suits your situation during our initial conversation.

How do I get started working with you?

The process begins with a phone call or email to schedule a property assessment. During this visit, we discuss your goals, evaluate the current state of your garden, and outline what we can accomplish. From there, we provide a written proposal for your review.

What qualifications does your team have?

Our crew members have practical experience in horticulture, landscape maintenance, and garden design. We stay current with best practices for plant care, soil health, and sustainable gardening methods appropriate to our Ottawa climate zone.

Can you work with a neglected or overgrown garden?

Yes, garden restoration is one of our core services. We regularly take on properties that have been left unattended and bring them back to a manageable, attractive state. The timeline and approach depend on the extent of overgrowth and your ultimate goals for the space.

Do you provide plants and materials, or do I need to source them?

We can source plants, soil amendments, mulch, and other materials on your behalf. Alternatively, if you prefer to select your own plants from a nursery, we're happy to work with what you provide. Material costs are itemized separately in our quotes.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept e-transfer, cheque, and credit card payments. For ongoing maintenance contracts, we typically invoice monthly. For one-time projects, we may request a deposit before work begins, with the balance due upon completion.

Can I cancel or pause my service?

Yes. For ongoing maintenance agreements, we ask for reasonable notice before cancellation or pausing services, typically two weeks. There are no long-term lock-in contracts. We understand that circumstances change.

Do you handle vegetable gardens and edible plantings?

Absolutely. Many of our clients want gardens that are both ornamental and productive. We design and maintain vegetable beds, herb gardens, and fruit-bearing plantings suited to Ottawa's growing season.

What happens during winter months?

Our core gardening services run during the growing season, roughly April through November. During winter, we can discuss seasonal preparation, planning for the following year, or limited services like holiday greenery installation. Contact us for details on off-season availability.

How far in advance should I book?

For spring projects, we recommend reaching out in late winter to secure a spot in our schedule. For general maintenance, a few weeks' notice is usually sufficient. Urgent requests are accommodated when possible, depending on crew availability.
